Toshiba Mobile HDD MKxx54GSYF Series
The MKxx54GSYF Series is Toshiba's top-of-the-line, 7,200 RPM hard disk drive which spans capacities ranging from 80 to 320GB with Free fall Sensor. Combining superior quality and performance, the MKxx54GSYF is particularly suited for data intensive and productivity sensitive applications such as multimedia, mobile workstation, gaming, entertainment as well as high performance laptops, printers and other office systems. Power efficient, usage of the MKxx54GSYF can reduce operating power consumption by as much as 70 percent compared to even the most power conservative 3.5-inch hard drives, without compromising valuable storage space.
The MKxx54GSYF also has the advantages of 300G's of operating shock and 900G's of non-operating shock. Furthermore, the new drive incorporates Free Fall Sensor technology. This technology uses an embedded motion sensor to detect if the drive is in free fall. In such cases, the HDD quickly and immediately moves the read/write heads away from the spinning to prevent them damaging any data upon impact.
The MKxx54GSYF also features a new, environmentally enhanced component design which decreases or eliminates the use of hazardous or controversial chemical substances such as antimony trioxide, BFR (brominated flame retardant), PVC (polyvinyl chloride), red phosphorous as well as chlorine and bromine.
