The Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Gen 3 Laptop - (type 20YJ) Supports Single and Dual Drive Configurations. (One M.2 (2242) Drive and/or One M.2 (2280) Drive) Note: There are two M.2 slots on the system board, slot-1 (SSD1) supports 2242 drives only and slot-2 (SSD2) supports 2280 and 2242 drives. The M.2 2242 drive in slot-2 (SSD2) uses a adapter bracket p/n 5B40S72981 to accommodate for the slots larger 2280 form factor. When installing a M.2 PCIe Gen4 drive, the drive will run at Gen3 speeds due to the system board limitations.
